REFLEXOLOGY

"I haven't had reflexology before - what is it?"
A holistic complementary therapy where the reflexologist uses gentle on and off pressure on the feet to stimulate reflex points which correspond to the structure of the human body.

"How does reflexology work?"
There are a number of theories - and a growing number of evidence based studies demonstrating its effectiveness in particular situations for example when used in the workplace it has reduced sickness absence; it has improved quality of life in terminally ill people.
I believe reflexology supports the body to use its own natural healing energies - the life force flowing through the human body on energy pathways called meridians - to bring about balance and well-being. The human body is naturally programmed to maintain homeostasis, and reflexology supports this process.

"What can reflexology do for me?"
Reflexology does not claim to diagnose, prescribe or cure, but may:

  • Promote relaxation
  • Relieve anxiety, stress and tension
  • Improve circulation
  • Support the immune system
  • Improve nerve functioning
  • Eliminate toxins from the body
  • Maintain health and well-being and re-balance the body

    Many conditions may benefit including:

  • Stress related conditions
  • Respiratory problems
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Digestive problems
  • Joint and muscle problems
  • Sleep problems
  • Headaches and migraine
  • Back pain

"How long does a treatment last?
Initial visits take an hour and a quarter and include a free initial consultation to plan a treatment to meet your individual needs. Allow an hour for further treatments.

"How much does a treatment cost?"
£30 in my treatment room and £35 for home visits in Harrogate and Knaresborough.
